What Is A CSI I-DOT™

The I-DOT™ is a state of the art identification technology more commonly known as microdots.  Microdots are recognized globally as one of the most effective and cost efficient tools in reducing or even preventing theft.  The I-DOT™ measures 0.5 mm to 1 mm in diameter, which is roughly the size of a grain of sand.

Each I-DOT™ is uniquely encoded with information which is applied using a sophisticated laser process.  This information is microscopic and can only be read through a magnifying viewer.  An I-DOT™ will contain a unique PIN (Personal Identification Number) along with Certified Secure Identification Corp's globally accessible website, www-csi-dots.com.  The I-DOT™ is applied to assets using a specially formulated adhesive that contains a ultra-violet trace to facilitate detection under UV black light.  Each unique identification number is registered online through a secure data-base that is accessible to police and other registered authorities 24 hours a day, and is traceable world wide.

How does I-DOT™ (Microdot) Work?

The worldwide success of the microdot (I-DOT™) technology lies in the large number of microdots used to mark an asset.  The I-DOT™ is applied to the item in both overt and covert areas.  Highly visible “I-DOT™ Protected” security warning labels are provided and are placed at entry points to your vehicle, home or business, along with smaller labels for marking the assets themselves.  A thief knows that it will be virtually impossible to locate and remove all the microdots, thus making it much more difficult and risky to sell your property.  The police know they just have to find one I-DOT™ to identify you as the true owner, therefore improving the potential of asset recovery and offender conviction.  This acts as a powerful “THEFT DETERRENT” to would be criminals.

Since microdot vehicle marking started in Australia in 2001, Australian police records report that the number of stolen microdot marked vehicles fell by as much as 86% over vehicles that were not protected by microdots.

Microdots are highly recognized by major authorities such as Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council (MVTRC). MVTRC endorse VIN base microdots and state that the technologies deterrent effects have begun to show positive results.
